Paper Trail Enterprises was built around a simple idea: understand what's actually happening before trying to fix it. We work across operations, compliance, recruiting, administration, systems, automation, workflow development, and specialized transportation support because real business problems rarely stay inside one neat category.
Sometimes the answer is better organization. Sometimes it's another set of hands, a better process, a tracking system, automation, or something that has to be built around the problem itself.

We don't believe good business requires a complicated philosophy. Be clear about what you can do. Don't sell somebody something they don't need. Communicate when there's a problem. Own mistakes. Protect the information you're trusted with. And when you don't know the answer, find it instead of pretending you do.
That's how we want Paper Trail to operate whether we're handling a document, coordinating an operation, developing a system, supporting a client, or solving something we've never seen before.

I didn't build Paper Trail because I wanted to sell a list of services.
Most of my working life has involved figuring things out: equipment, transportation, electronics, automation, business processes, and the everyday problems that show up when the plan meets the real world. My technical education gave me better tools for doing that, and my business education is adding another perspective, but the approach hasn't changed much: understand what's actually happening before trying to fix it.
Paper Trail grew out of that approach. If we can solve the problem, we'll tell you how. If we aren't the right people for it, we'll tell you that too.

Paper Trail isn't something Sean runs completely on his own. Amy helps keep the pieces moving when attention has to be somewhere else.
A lot of what she handles is the work people don't notice until it doesn't get done: paperwork, records, data entry, administrative coordination, errands, follow-up, and the everyday details that can quickly become tomorrow's problem. When Sean is away from the office dealing with operations, Amy helps keep things moving behind the scenes.
Paper Trail is something we're building as a family. Amy's role is still developing as the company grows, but the principle behind it is already important to how we operate: take care of the details, communicate with each other, and don't assume somebody else handled it.
